On the clock

Something that someone did
let’s forget it’s so tragic
play the victim once again
little girls with no knowledge
make excuses and deflect
you know what you really wanted
say the truth and say it loud
you’re just looking for another way out
got the words in your mouth
one way or another you let them out
sing the praises and sing the speak
you don’t own the path you seek
something someone once did do
you can always run the rules
play the games like little girls do
scream the name of victimhood
something someone did one time
we know the name but speak in rhyme
know the game but not the score
little girls in congress wanting more
little girls on twitter so damn bored
can’t do their real job that’s for sure
so they did that one thing something for
little girls playing big girl games
someone once did something just for fame
little girls be speaking double talk
never been to their district the phones cut off
something is like something unprofessional
little girls play games like tentacles
little girls play games don’t tell the scores
they keep crying victim that’s for sure
attacked for what they’re screaming something for
everybody’s leaving as they scream stop
they just playing victim while they on the clock.

#Iamnotokay

I am not okay
want you to know today
the painful truth of self
how i let myself down
didn’t speak the pain
refused to say the name
said the truth must be
that i cut myself baby
I’ll show you as if it’s art
cry tears that are hard to start
about why I’m always afraid
but i can work today
share my pain as though it’s yours
hurt the world with my last word
I am not okay
because I could never say
the name or how I felt
how i let myself down
I cut myself today
triggered others with my pain
don’t sell a proper way out
show beauty in pain right now
the beauty in tragedy
though self mutilation be
a horrid act of self
I am not okay
but this is my hell
I didn’t speak when spoken to
if this is happening to you
speak out and do not mince
words that stick to lips
force screams and let them know
you aren’t okay don’t let go
cutting is not beauty
scars remind us truly
that ignoring our own pain
breaks us of our name
don’t glorify that scene
with pictures meant to be
beautifully framed art without a game
scars and cuts they are the same
as what nobody needs
you share a picture please
remember what it means
that pain is not beauty
there’s no strength in being a victim
survival is much different
then living and learning to thrive
a victim is not how you strive
don’t glorify your scars
your pain is not who you are
I live my life in fear
overcome it live my dears
don’t allow the rich to bleed
bleed unto you baby
just lift yourself back up
even if you cut
don’t glorify that pain
glorify the strength that comes
by admitting you need help
by leaving victimhood for health

public shaming

Pray to the demons
you’ve nothing left
grace is beyond you
or so you’ve said
you find no fault here
though tears do well
nightmares plague you
you’re trapt in hell
so why not now drown
and show your hand
you’re only as powerful
as the mob you’ve fed

Collectively ill

We’ve chosen sides
we love divides
a generation’s worth
of self loathing and hurt
everybody’s just another victim
the game here is that no one
wants to fix them
everybody loves their bitter memories
we cling to a polarized history
and drown ourselves in sorrows
a cynical tomorrow-a future bathed in blood
and tragedy
everybody loves all the mayhem and fun
caused by unnecessary horror
we pretend it’s much worse than before
that even the good should abhor
but we’ve chosen sides
we love to divide
so the lies we believe just bring comfort
don’t want to wake up-just continue to sleep
the world is on fire but our beds are warm
we love choosing sides
and playing victims
because playing at life is entertaining
realizing you’re dying is just aging
and nobody likes wrinkles anyways

Hollywood heroes

You are not responsible
you are not to blame
when a beast breaks your bones
you should not be shamed
but when you make the choice
to live it out through silence
you have made the choice
to give silent compliance
you are not to blame
for the abuse endured
but we all have choices
and we all live with pain
sometimes we choose silence
but then heal to speak again
and that is all just fine
but in the end still know
that when you choose silence
the abuser will own the show
do not misunderstand
this goes for those with power
a child’s choice of silence
a woman on her own
a man who will be silenced
even in his home
these victims are not powerful
they do not bathe in gold
but when you have the means
know you reap what you have sown.

Victimhood

I don’t need your victimhood
I don’t need your help
I have waged my own way
while you played with yourself.
Parade about equality
when all you want is
everything;
the power, the man, the wedding ring-
life that’s fair to femininity-
while you destroy
the enemy?
I don’t need your victims tale
I don’t need your progress
I have waged a war in kind
to end the world you promised
protest all you want
but never do define
you are exactly
the very stereotypes
you mime.
Broken little girls
all you do is whine-
imagine all the trauma,
nightmares are your bribe,
scream until you’re crying
then say it’s all their fault
but never actually fight for change
just hold another woman’s march.
