Color me furniture

Black and blue
my heart is racing
bruises from the floor
hardwood and sediment
caught in veins and cords
everything is bloody here
my mind a simple lamp
my eyes they see
the carpet bleed the bile
from its pores
our stomach hangs a tapestry
and all our life remains
breathing from the window lungs
the opening of me

Open door

Break apart the mask again
see what lay beneath the skin
the flesh that changes from within
the bitter truth of how we live
break apart the picture frame
learn to walk in fire and rain
destroy that which came before
they cannot see through the
open door.

Understand this

I need, I need, I need
to get across this theme
of everything we breed
encases something sinister.
That nothing is as pure
as my truth and word
all these lived experiences
shed light on these entanglements
the dark web of my true regret-
the message clear
you’re malcontent.
I need, I need, I need
to make you truly see
that though our plates may seem
equal in entirety-
that we are all the same-
you can’t make that claim
you just play their game.
I am the one in need-
give me your understanding
that we are not equals
for I’m the realest victim of you all.
