Sirens

We see the sirens coming
hear their songs through clouds
the pain that keeps on leaking
the drums too loud for sound
no music to accompany
no one’s hand to hold
the sirens they are coming
showing all for all to know
to see what’s deep within them
hear their words directly from soul
we see the sirens coming
angels in gold silk
beautiful and glowing
the grace of life giving milk
we see the women coming
the sirens we all covet
hear their songs through clouds
the sky that spit them out
falling like the stars
the sirens trap our mouths

Star bed

I fell across your sky so willingly
like fire in the midnight you call to me
I’ll drown within your ocean
the waves beneath my skin
I’ll die before you love me
but I’ll still always give in
I fell across your sky so ignorantly
burning in the twilight you used me
too guide you into dreams true beauty
I fell across your sky filled the stars up
I wanted you forever wanted so much
like fire in the midnight you call to me
the ocean in your eyes wash over me
I fell across your sky so willingly
I was alive in that star bed

Don’t drink enough

I don’t drink enough these days
I don’t know just what to say
can’t keep dreaming in my grave
just want to rise up from the ground
keep the dirt out of my teeth
my nails all off the blood it leaks
I don’t drink enough these days
don’t take the pills
don’t drink the sage
I don’t have a lot left standing
broken boredom might cause branding
I’ve got scars all up my arms
I don’t drink up no more stars

Screaming into midnight

Screaming into midnight
the sun has come undone
the turning of the hour
causes all the oceans to flood
to drown all of the people
to kill what’s left behind
screaming into midnight
dreaming of touching sky
the light has died forever
the world has grown quite dark
screaming into midnight
as life returns to stars

Take me back

Take me back to that time again
the time when it wasn’t decadence
dressed in trash and laced with sin
dancing in the straight ignorance
take me back to a time before
before we all fell on the floor
too drunk to pray and too damn bored
drunk off what we lost once more
gave it up like we knew better
drift like stars in darkness forever
take me back where I can see the sun
I don’t like this I want where I come from
take me back to a place like home
a time when all that glitters ain’t gold
where darkness is because of light
where angels sing instead of fight
take me back before we fell
a place that doesn’t feel like hell

Celebrities

Let me breathe
exhale inhale kinda thing
let me believe
I’m just a normal human being
a regular person
because I’m human am I not
did I do something
maybe something I forgot
and then it doesn’t hit you
not like it should in reality
that you ain’t normal
you ain’t a regular nobody
celebrity burns into your skin
you got the richest of the sins
you lose a lot to have it all
you lost the ordinary before the fall
let me breathe?
You don’t get a chance to say
because we own you
you ain’t like us though you play
you wish you were normal
had bills you need to pay
but it’s so much easier
easier when you get your way
and yeah you’re human
but that only means so much
you ain’t just living or scraping by
you got the ability to live the dream
and yeah money don’t buy happiness
and yeah you can still open up and bleed
but you ain’t like us
not a regular average nobody
you a star so high up
you lost what makes you like the rest
exhale and inhale
take another gold plated breath
take it in deep
and put more diamonds on your chest
because money don’t buy happiness
oh no it don’t
but you gave up normal
to be in the heavens oh so woke
you light up the sky
you ain’t down here like all the rest
you ain’t getting by
even if your mind is such a mess
you don’t know us
like you say we don’t know you
so ask again to let you breathe
exhale inhale kinda thing
but remember what you gave up
to live amongst the stars
you gave it up
you don’t get to take it back
you aren’t a regular average nobody tonight
you gave that up
so light our sky all up so right
glitter like gold because that’s what we want to see
you gave up normal so you could be a celebrity

Boils cold

Ringing in my ears
screaming in my eyes
tears they often decay
grow cold and break apart
brittle as they are
they fall like shooting stars
burning in the night
my skin they often ride
ringing in my ears
bleeding through my eyes
here the midnight comes
burning through my sight
brittle as these bones
take apart the soul
a moment carved in stone
the blood it boils cold.
