She is sacrifice

She is a beauty
a real queen
the type of killer
that moves unseen
she is the type
you want to be
but then you learn
what sacrifice means

The hero in you

Everybody wants to be a hero
but no one wants to feel the fear
everybody wants to be a hero
but can’t be helped to hear
everybody wants a bad guy
we love a madman or so we think
everybody wants to change them
give them love and make them see
everybody wants the challenge
but don’t want it challenging
they don’t want to work too hard
and they never want to lose a thing
everybody wants the courage
be brave and save the scene
but nobody got the common sense
to see how very different
it really is to be the thing
that you say you want to be
it’s not that you can and don’t know
it’s that you’re a coward and let it show
wants can come and feelings go
but not everybody’s a hero that we know
gotta go through fear to learn to scream
gotta brave the darkness to be free
gotta keep repeating and doing it again
because if everybody was a hero
we would see that heroes save the day
while everybody watches
nobody wants the debt or to pay the cost
everybody’s a hero when nothing can be lost

We’re all complicit

We’re all complicit
when our heroes turn out wrong
we want that brand new song
yes we all will sing along
we’re all dismissive
because we don’t want to give up
we want what we want
it’s far too hard to sacrifice
we want the difference
the good the bad between
we don’t want to be saviors
it’s too hard to be so clean
so we will back them
back those we know have killed
the child abusers
the animals that never heal
we damn the ones
the ones who have already served time
but won’t give up
give up the ones that prey in the light
we’re all complicit
as we keep demons as our friends
they make bad choices
but in the end it isn’t them
we’re all complicit
when it comes to those we love
we hold them up
even when we know the evils done
oh he’s a rapist
that one a pedophile
he hurts children
that one beats women
and she’s real violent
but we just ignore it
it’s too hard to keep the score
we’re all complicit
and won’t admit we’re sorry inside
it’s why we hate ourselves
why we eat the good alive
because it’s criminal
to hide the truth so deep inside
we’re all complicit
we know the evil by first name
we’ll buy the album
and defend our friends against
due shame
we’re all complicit
because we never say the name

In the name of youth

Let’s redeem R Kelly
how that feels to read
let’s forget his crimes now
oh now that we believe
why do we trust these victims
only when they’re adults
why must we beat the children
devour the youth at any cost
let’s redeem R Kelly
cancel someone else instead
he can still make music
he can still give bread
let’s redeem R Kelly
oh why must we love fiends
but only when they abuse children
yes them we protect with ease
we unbury the dead, dig graves
and piss on them
we’d rather repeat ourselves
with lies and ridiculous doubt
let’s forget the truth
what we know and what we knew
let’s eat the children destroy the youth
all for some immortality pursuit
never grow old just sacrifice the new

Dirty laundry

Surviving R. Kelly
it’s simple really
we need to stop fearing
and be somebody
stop all the excuses
it took far too long
you see abuse but then
still listen to the song
surviving R. Kelly
a tale we all knew
everybody saw it
but what could they do
when fear fills your heart
heroes die hard
no saviors here
just look away
when you stay silent
it’s them who will pay
surviving R Kelly
what does it mean
when we ignore the truth
how do we get clean?

We need to do better

We need to do better-
no, shit.
We need to do better-
than quit!
We need to do better-
but we just keep talking
we just keep walking
away.
We need to do better-
just stop!
We need to do better
it’s all talk,
won’t name the problem
just walk
act all remorseful
but don’t
don’t name the problem
we won’t.
We need to do better-
yes,
name the fucking problem
and then
change the way you think
and let
let the truth set in
we protect those that commit
acts of child of molestation,
child rapist and then
we need to do better-
yes.
We protect adults the best
keep the monsters living
and tell the children
they’re healing.
We need to do better,
we forget who we are
we used to love children
but those moments are gone-
feed them to demons
protect what is wrong
we need to do better
but we do not see
we take the steps
to look away
facing the problem
we must maintain
look at the devil
say it’s real name
then sacrifice the ones
who commit to evil
we need to do better
we really do
we need to do more
than just say that we do.

Blood graces

I’m a fool for help
I’m a tool it’s true
I’ve been so misused
guess I just like
the abuse
thought trusting
was good
just misunderstood
that you can’t trust
someone
not even of blood
that at the end of the day
you’re on your own
when they stay
when they need something
more to display
but when you’ve done
all that you can
they’ll abandon you, glad
just like the damned
you’ll lose grace.

A poem for bread

Let’s start from the beginning
what demons have you been feeding
what passions have been leading
you down this long complicated road
you ended up right here
the path should be so clear
as to why you haven’t given it your all
why you were always destined to fall
you never gave it priority
never put it first
let’s start from the beginning
tell me why you lack the thirst.

Weakness

Bleed for me
bleed for me
tell me that you’ll lead me
keep me
love me
color me with cotton candy.
Drink me and teach me
that everything is grey.
I’ll sleep on the floor
just to save the day.
All I really want
is someone just to stay
keep your hand upon me
never will I stray.

Shepard

I have lived a thousand lives
none of which were mine
I have shepherd many flocks
and been left by roadside
I have watched them come
and I have watched them go
speaking as they got the lessons
but never do they know.
I have lived a thousand lives
none of which were mine
guiding those who might have grown
if they had thought to thrive
but I know only of their choices
when they chose to go
I have lived a thousand lives
but never have I known
the kindness of mine own self
the emptiness I’ve sown.
