Sulfur

Black and blue melt down
sulfur clouds surround
the note is not profound
though it is a pleasant sound
trumpets all lie down
on floors so cold surround
blue and black they wait
sulfur clouds from floors they take
blacken out the night
the note it plays to dry to save
the sky that’s burning on

Planning

Sitting here waiting once again
wondering what might have been
if I told you off like I wanted too
if I had said what I really meant
thrown you down and made you beg
sitting here I wonder when
that opportunity might come again
to slap you once and tweak your nose
keep you wondering what to do
why I still stay true
just to make you blue
sitting here once again waiting
thinking what to do next

Down the steps

What’s it worth to you
a little how do you do
more smile with less tooth
the truth is bluer than blue
an image in the snow
written yellow in white coal
the moan it’s so damn old
a recording warped and scored
what’s it worth to you right now
can you pay for it somehow
pull the pocket lint right out
smile big and large and wide
take the picture from the right
the side we never hide
the one done up so nice
come alive and dream forever
what it’s worth to you you’ll see
something so cold you can’t believe
drink the drowning kiss from skin
amused by what it was worth back then

Purple roses

Bleeding purple roses upon a white altar
drowning in the blue buds and the tide
seeds all floating in the ocean
the midnight painting all the sky
rising from the wave foam
thriving but not alive
bleeding purple roses upon a white altar
drowning on the surface
bleeding colors into blight
floating in a garden a sea of red orchids
drinking in the poison the sea all I have left
